How old are you people who have seen it?

I've been hearing comments that this movie is for "old people". I guess that's because most of the actors are older, but still. Like, I'm 15 and I loved it. Partly because Jeremy Irons is my idol. So how old was everyone when they saw it?

im 19 and i saw this movie in my film class, and i LOVED it. i dont get why they say its for "old people." Because of the accents? Idk, i kind of felt i could relate to her, (though at first i was kind of grossed out at the age difference i soon grew fond of her)cried when it was revealed that Tom was sleeping with that strumpet, and was so overwhelmingly happy when Julia got back at Avis or whatever her name was and found happiness. Then again i am a theatre major and LOVE drama queens. the only thing that bothered me was that the end was unrealistic...i mean wouldnt the audience have been confused? I guess it goes to show how the star DOES make the play.

oh and i was also very happy to find out the guy who played Julia's son is my age! Not so happy that he lives all the way in England. Oh well :-/

I'm 19. Male... most of my other buddies wouldn't have admitted to even watching it, but... I loved it! Annette Benning was awesome! Truly a legend. It's not often any more in this day and age for a woman to exuberate such grace and class. Also, the musical score was beautiful. I'm trying to find the soundtrack.

LOVED THIS MOVIE! Am a 15 year old girl living in England. I am sort of an 'old soul' because I love the early glamour era of the fifties rather than now. My favourite bit had to be the fantastic first night of the play with the swing business, it was so well executed by all involved! Benning was absolutely superb and I was shocked that she did not get the Oscar, Irons was of course fantastic as he always is (Scar from The Lion King!), Miriam Margoyles was very funny and so was Juliet Stevenson. The girl who played Irons' mistress was very good (don't know her name) as was T-O-M and Julia's son was fantastic as well. Really great ensemble cast of well established British actors (give or take Benning and T-O-M) and fabulous young cast as well. Thoroughly reccomend this film to anybody who loves fabulous acting. OMG! Totally forgot to mention how fab the scenes with Gambon were! They were fantastic!

Wow, the old days are the best! Sometimes I wonder if I was born in the right time! I absolutely adore the old styles, (even going so far as the cape and monacle!) Being Julia was a great story, showcasing the talents of the stars, espesially the gorgeous Annette Benning. Wow!

I'm a 28 year old male down here in Texas. I just bought the movie. It's a solid movie. Bening is nothing short of wonderful. However, I cannot agree with anyone that thought that she should have won the Oscar instead of Hillary Swank. Swank was amazing in her performance.

34. Thought the movie was excellent, and good for you for picking Jeremy Irons to idolize. Great choice. Keep up like that and you will be a lil evil heart breaker!

28, I thought it was OK. Not great. I loved the period, the costumes, the stage,...Unfortunatly I am one of the few -apparently- that was not too crazy about Benning's performance. She simply annoyed the heck out of me and I thought the whole last act, while funny, very over the top and unlikly. I think Swank definitly deserved the Oscar over Benning, who did a much better job in American Beauty. Actually Irons and Benning's assistant where my favorite characters. Just my 2 cents...

If you hang out with theatre people, her performance was par for the course.

Fine film.

saw it when I was 19 and loved it.

21 year old English female and really enjoyed it. I've actually been actively avoiding this for a year because I didn't think the clips used for Annette's nominations were very good and the story didn't sound particularly enthralling. I thought it was great and Benning impressed me so much. It's always nice when a film surprises you in a good way!

15 and i thought it was fabulous.

16, but I was 15 when I saw it. Iwent into this movie without knowing the story, who the actors were, and what the buzz around it was. I loved the film so much that I couldn't get enough of it. When it was over, I was in awe of Annette Bening and Jeremy Irons. I thought it was hilarious! Definitly one of my favorite films ever.

Don't you forget about me...

I'm 16 now, but was also 15 when I saw it (only about two weeks ago, actually). I missed the latter part of the film but from what I saw I enjoyed it immensely.
I like large age differences in relationships.
