Is 30 such a desirable age?

Just wondering, because I'm not really looking forward to turning 30.....

reply

WELL the movie title wouldn't have sounded so cool if it was
13 going on 40
or 13 going on 25 would it?

The script for 8 going 80 was canned.......

I guess everyone at 13 wants to be older like 16 or 17 just to get out of school i really hated school due to circumstances of horrible nasty people
But anyways being 30, well my sis didn't like turning 30, but i know some people who love it coz they look good for their age and have fantastic jobs, if anything this movie made them look forward to being 30 lol because they knew they looked good for their age and they flaunted it lol

I wondered the same thing when I first watched the movie. I think they set her to (want to) be 30 just for the play on words. If you think about it 13 and 30 sound very similar, while 12 and 20 (which I think is a more desirable age for women) don't have a similar sound.

I would say any age is a desirable age for women. I am very young looking for my age and I don't have a problem there but I have heard from photographers and artist that I look better now than I did in my 20's because of the nice angles on my face. I still had a babyish face I suppose. It does depend on the type of person you want to be and in the film they highlight the inner strengths more than anything else.

Well, as the old curmudgeon here I'll just say that when I was 13 I couldn't wait to be 18 (driver's license), when I was 18 I couldn't wait to be 21 (beer), when I was 21 I couldn't wait to be 25 (out of college and in a job), when I was 25 I couldn't wait to be 30 (so I wouldn't be "the kid" in the office anymore), when I was 30 I wanted to be 40 (because that's the age at which corporate America will take you seriously.) And when I was 40 I said "OK, stop That's fine, thanks." Unfortunately it doesn't work that way.

Then when I hit 50 it was OK, but startling to realize I was actually past my physical prime, and when I hit 60 (yikes!) it was a drag, because 60 is OLD, even if you don't feel it.

True life adventures! lol.

30 is either it shows u WOW u did great or you need a little more work
I know people who are financially set for life at 30
While some have a little more work, but u know its half of where they wanna be in life

The magazine article was stating that even though 30 is an "old" age, women can still be thriving, flirty and happy, rather than the idea that 30 is the "best" age. I don't think 30 is the most desirable age, but it's because of this magazine article that the young Jenna thought she should be 30.

I've had more fun in my 30's than my 20's. Granted, I can't drink like I used to but people tend to treat you different at this age then when in your 20's.

No, I totally agree with you. Preparation H does feel good... on the hole.

I have been in med school almost my entire life (since I was 16 - British system) and I'm 26 now. The past 10 years were very satisfying career wise, but I never had any spontaneity, and I feel like I missed out on some social aspects of life.

I still have a long way to go and won't be earning the big bucks until I'm 32. and it seems my 20s will go the same way my teens went. Without much "out of work" excitement.

So basically, I can't wait till I'm thirty, independent medical attending, and earning the money that I have invested most of my life into.

Lots of the smart, kinda-nerdy teen girls just keep getting better and better looking well into their 40's. But by 30, many of the early-bloomers from middle school are looking distinctly used and bitter.

Much of the difference is in how you live, though. Binge drinking and living perpetually short on sleep can age your face 20 years in a decade.
