A better match up would have been...

Freddy vs Pinhead or Jason vs Michael. Jason and Michael share more common ground and things could get really interesting with Freddy and Pinhead doing battle. I'd still root for Freddy though, lol.

Jason and Michael are too similar. Imo, it's more interesting when the adversaries have different personalities and skills. Freddy vs Pinhead, though, would be pretty cool. Too bad that different studios "own" the characters. Not very likely they'll ever meet. Unless they do a comic book crossover.

Thit and thpin!

Freddy vs Jason was perfect for me because they have different personalities, and they were also the most well know killers along with Michael

There's somewhat interesting duality between Jason and Freddy. Freddy was burned in fire, Jason drowned in water. Freddy is a loudmouth, while Jason is a silent one. Also the color and scenery is nice between these two, Freddy's place is basically a red boiler room, while Jason's is a blue colored Crystal Lake.

Well, they both kill young people.

Yes, both battles would be epic. I vote for Freddy over Pinhead too. As for Jason and Michael, I pick Jason, using water as the regenerative property for Jason, so he would never die. Michael does appear to be more capable of assessing a situation, but Jason is pure strength.

And what fresh Hell is this?, Malory from Archer(Dorothy Parker)

reply

The problem with Jason vs Michael is that neither talk or show facial expressions. A silent masked killer might look scary when he's chasing young, pretty teenagers around. But the interaction between the two of them would suck.

Notice in Freddy vs Jason, it's Freddy who drives the story forward more. You wouldn't have a character who could do that in Jason vs Michael.

Freddy vs Pinhead would be pretty cool though.

One of the original scripts was going to have pinhead show up at the end asking Freddyand Jason, "What seems to be the problem gentlemen?" They couldn't get the rights apparently. Its a fun consideration.

reply

My understanding was that price was the issue.

Being that it was only a three second cameo at the end, the asking price to feature Pinhead was too much.

reply

Correct they wanted almost the same amount the whole movies budget was for less then 1 min feature of pinhead.

pinhead was also suppose to be to do with them both going to hell.

None of the other match ups would of been any good and in lot of ways we are lucky it was the proper freddy we got just think how awful it would of been had it been the remake version.

I'd like to see Chucky vs Leprechaun. lol

reply

Me too.

Who ever saw The Gingerdead Man vs The Evil Bong?

lol

reply

I disagree.

Jason and Michael are two mute killers so there would be no dialogue between them at all. It would be too quiet.

Michael isn't very animated. That's his thing, he's menacingly slow and calculated. Freddy is very animated so him whipping out the elbows and kicks works, can you picture Michael going WWE/Kung-Fu on Jason?

All in all Michael and Jason are too similar to work as a feature film. Honestly zombie Jason vs Freddy was the perfect match up.
