Other movies like City of God?

This is by far my favorite movie of all time and I've seen it 5+ times! I am looking for other movies like it.

So far I have seen City of Men and Elite Squad (plus its sequel)

Any suggestions?

Yip- "Tsotsi" would prolly be the best bet. Like City of God, it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. These 2 movies really "stay" with you forever.

Just a bit of info for those who don't know- a Tsotsi is a gangster or a hoodlum.

Menace to Society has similar themes. It's like the American version in my opinion.

I also liked The Wooden Camera http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402590/ though it's clearly "influenced" by the City of God. But you asked for alikes :)
