Tired of bad geography in movies....

Why is Hollywood so cheap? They spend hundreds of millions on a movie, yet can't get the geography right. I don't know how many movies I've seen that is suppose to take place in Asia, Africa, South America, etc. and I know it's shot in the same damn location: HAWAII.

I've only been to Hawaii once but I've seen enough movies to know that the mountain shots are clearly in Hawaii.

There are no jungle mountains in Africa that I know of. Yet, during the whole movie, you could see the mountain backdrop in the background. That is clearly in Hawaii.

Who are they trying to fool?

While the movie was clearly shot in Hawaii (obviously because it was more financially feasible), there are plenty of jungle hills/mountains in the Nigeria/Cameroon region wherein the story takes place, as observed in this topographical map: https://i.redd.it/1oath380wd561.jpg

It looked like Kauai, the Napali coastline. The same location used for King Kong (1976)
