Caught this movie the other day and it took me back to the month I spent on the Rose with Captain Bailey. Loved every minute of it, especially the early morning of the Sunrise/Sunset watch.
I've visited it twice, in its dock in the San Diego Maritime Museum. It seems like such a small place for 200 people to live for moths or years, it's hard to imagine how they could possibly fit in a sickbay and a gunroom and midshipmen's quarters, and hammock room for the crew.
But they wouldn't let me climb the ratlines.
I have not, but would love to some day.
