Who saw it at the theater?

I saw this at the theater on opening night back in '02. You could feel the aura of failure within the first 20 minutes. Nearly empty theater. I remember it being such an odd movie; I didn't hate it, but I could never figure out what it was trying to be. Had a few good laughs.

Yeah, that was its biggest problem. It didn't know what it wanted to be. That, and the musical score, which was awful. But the movie wasn't THAT bad.

It was so universally savaged by critics that people stayed away in droves.

reply

Most people who say it's bad, in my experience, haven't even seen it.

I admit I haven't seen it, but again, it was just blistered by every critic and every person I know who did see it. I mean, usually even crappy movies have a couple of critics who say it was OK, but I don't think one critic at that time did anything but kill it.

reply

Give it a watch. I put it off because of bad word of mouth, but I'm happy I watched it.

Is it ever on TV? I could stream it I suppose, but I've never seen it on regular TV.

reply

Doubt it would be on tv.

reply

I'll be back when I stream it. Kinda intrigued now.

reply

Have you checked it out yet?

reply

Not yet. Probably after Christmas when things slow down for me. Keep nudging so I don't forget!

reply

Will do.
