Most Disturbing Movie Ever?

i think this is, i saw irreversible, ichi the killer, i stand alone, three extremes, oldboy, sympathy for mr vengance/lady vengance, last house on the left, i spit on your grave, pink flamingos, a clockwork orange, eraserhead, mulholland dr., battle royale, basketball diaries, etc. (and im not even 18 yet, but thats not the point) anyway, i thought that this movie was way more disturbing than anything else i ever saw. does anyone agree with me?

seen most, but not all stated. but, check out "IMPRINT".
hard to say what is most disturbing. but this movie hasnt been mentioned yet; and it is pretty disturbing.

life is short. Play.

reply

IMPRINT was good. Have you seen "CALVAIRE" '04 ? In that film you can really feel the guys pain. That film is F'ed up! Do you know of any films on the level of Q? Liquor & Whores,Bitches!

I Kill Kids!

Unspeakable is the most distrubing movie ever.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259077/

There is a reason for its title and it's not just for its graphic content and distribing sexual.. prowless?. but its attempts to be a "movie". Not only a movie but takes itself seriously. Making for the most disturbing watch ever!

This one really should be kept Unspeakable!

Most twisted film I have ever seen but not the most disturbing. Too ridiculous for that. Very, very memorable though.

Got a new film waiting to be watched at home, A Serbian Film. From what I have read it is going to trump this one as the most twisted film I have ever seen, while also being the most disturbing film ever. I havent even seen it yet and it is playing on my mind, having read one or two reviews with spoilers.

reply

For MY money, there is no movie more disturbing than A Serbian Film. Tried watching August Underground, and, although disgusting, I had to turn it off after a half hour due to being just WWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too boring. Visitor Q is one of the FUNNIEST movies I have ever seen, not disturbing in the least, but I did see it after having seen A Serbian Film... TWICE (so far)

reply

So you rated A Serbian Film? I havent got round to watching it yet. I have a 1 year old who is going through a period of waking up crying a lot at night. And I dont really want to watch this film and keep having to stop it to go upstairs and try and get her back to sleep.

I have to admit I am also a bit nervous. The reviews I have read have been unequivocal, that this film is in a league of its own for being brutal and shocking. I am intrigued yet somehow also a little scared.

Martyrs was very disturbing. Stayed on my mind for weeks. Inside and Frontier(s) were good also.

As far as most disturbing scene in a movie.... I would have to say when Kathy Bates gets in the hot tub in "About Schmidt". I still have nightmares!

reply

The only really disturbing thing about this movie is how insanely trashy it is and how some people actually think it's some kind of masterpiece. And I've seen them all, as well.
Don't think it would've been on the menu when I was your age, either.

reply

I don't know if it was said already but nothing is as disturbing as the August Underground series.

This is easy: Philosophy of a Knife (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0961119/). It's basically a remake of Men Behind the Sun. Hardly watchable...

I think Cannibal Holocaust or Irréversible come in at a close 2nd place tie.

reply

Cannibal Holocaust is not really disturbing if you look at its content. They are just cannibals doing their everyday stuff. They get disturbed by the pesky documentary team, they react in not-so-civilized-manner, the end.
Real animal killing is what makes it disturbing, in terms "if you give filmmaker freedom, where will they stop". Tho, still HC was quite entertaining :hypocrite:

Irreversible was truly disturbing, as well as The girl next door. I know the latter was sort of a crappy movie, but it left a deep imprint on my brain. Still cant shake it off. Nothing about crimes depicted in those movies is unrelatable, cause were more likely to get killed or raped by passerby/evil relative than are we to get eaten and made into a shrine by a tribe of cannibals.

Suicide Club 2 aka Norikos Dinner Table really hit me hard. I once had an experience like that when i was high on marijuana ( i seriously think it was laced with something). One of the worst experiences in my life. Anyway, that film is disturbing as all hell to me cause i related to it at a certain point in my life.

go watch cannibal holocaust
