Sadly, lost interest in this season... but update...

The episodes just piled up on my DVR. I love this show and seeing all countries and cultures, but it’s base appeal really depends on the cast. This season, the cast was dull and homogenous. It’s fun to see a few outliers in there - like the coal miners, older people, people with a disability. Athletes, Ivy Leaguers and reality show veterans are not compelling. Duh, of course these folks will do well. Show me more folks stepping out of their comfort zones to do this.

Update - I like the battle of the reality teams and there are several interesting teams. I missed this show after all and am happy to see it back.

I almost always cheer on an older team, not because they're old, but because of their personality. I really liked that couple seasons and seasons ago. I don't know their names, but I think the guy ended up having to drain their gas tank because he put the wrong fuel in it, and his wife ended up hitting her head and had blood streaming down her face or something and she still kept pushing to win that leg of the race. (Or maybe I'm combining two different teams from various seasons.)

I stopped watching a few seasons ago because the teams were too homogeneous. I tried watching again this season, but after one episode, I gave up.

There are foreign country Amazing Race shows which are more interesting to me because of the casts. Amazing Race Israel, China (in English with many Westerners), Vietnam, Asia, Latin America.
