The two characters that kept me wrapped in the show in its entirety were Barbara Jean and Van. They were the most hilarious characters and so well played. Geniuses of comedic delivery, both of them.

shareThat's an interesting point. I never realized that. You are right. She was much funnier when she was overweight.... Like a child. Once she slimmed down, it was more like the beautiful dumb blonde, and that just didn't seem like Barbara Jean any longer. It just wasn't funny.

I just started getting into the show and that's how I described it to my mum. I compared it to 'Seinfeld' because I never found him funny, but everyone else around him was. Van and BJ, hands down, are the best characters on the show, I agree.
