Thought it was all about Virginia Woolf

I remember when this was at the theater and in the Academy Awards, I thought it was going to be all about Virginia Woolf as played by Nicole Kidman. Then when I actually saw this crap I found out quite differently. I guess the life of Virginia Woolf herself just wasn't eventful or exciting enough to justify a full movie. I can still remember the headline a critic had in a newspaper review of this movie which read "The Hours of Boredom".

i haven't seen it

This is a weird criticism to make of a movie based on a book that was only partly about the life of Virginia Woolf. Two thirds of the novel was about the two other characters featured in the movie played by Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore therefore it's perfectly reasonable that the movie is also about them. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest the person who started this thread is not a big reader.

Then apparently the life of Virginia Woolf herself just wasn't eventful or exciting enough to justify a full book either, if this crap was a novel, lol.

It's a stupid complaint. Maybe you didn't like the film, that's fine, but it's not meant to be a biography of Virginia Woolf so complaining that it isn't is pointless.

When (and if) you become mature enough to appreciate the Pulitzer Prize winning novel the movie was based on, you will find yourself incredibly embarrassed about your comments above. If not, please stick to commenting on the type of movies you admire, like Boss Baby and Halloween 4 and Shaun the Sheep Movie.

Actually if you'd read those posts you'd see that none of them were particularly about liking those movies. The Halloween 4 post was about Region 4 DVD availability (I don't recall ever having seen the movie itself, though its bound to be a damn site better than The Hours), Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon was okay (not brilliant), and as for Big Boss Baby, well that was just as crappy as The Hours.
