I don't get why people hate the scene....

...where Otis holds the gun to the cop's head for what feels like forever. It just shows how *beep* up Otis really is by prolonging the inevitable. Kinda like he is just playing with him before killing him.

it was flippin great you all know it

I think that scene is brilliant.

No Louis, you're mistaken. It's not me.

I think Zombie failed in doing the scene. It was obvious the cop would get killed but holding it for so long
just lost its momentum and I didn't care anymore. Any good editor would have shortened it to give it bigger impact but Zombie is a bad director.

I loved the scene, just waiting and waiting for Otis to pull the trigger. Because I was waiting for so long for it when I first saw it, the gunshot just made me jump slightly, also the execution of the cop was visually pretty cool as well.

The voices are back, excellent.

Personally, I loved that scene... for the exact same reason... it's the whole 'cat & mouse' thing.

Say what you want, but deep down inside of us all is a bloodthirsty predator, more dangerous than a shark... which is the reasons we can have wars and drive SUVs today, because being an apex predator has it's perks! ;)

This is one of the best and most creative scenes in film history. If people don't like it, it's because they want to see the same recycled scenes over and over, otherwise it doesn't make sense to them.

That scene was awesome and brutal, as the camera slowly raises back, the cops life flash before his eyes, and pow! the bullet hits the dirt straight through the head. Powerful scene right there.

People who don't like this scene, probably don't like this movie in general.

I just love seeing cops get what they deserve.

That wasn't powerful at all. You saw it coming the moment the cop got on his knees.

And the movie was bad because it was so bland... I did watch it thirteen years after its release, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it was somehow edgy when it came out.

It is not that I was shocked, disturbed, or unsettled about its "bad guy" glorification, it's that this movie and its sequel were so predictable and boring. In 'The Devil's Rejects', you knew Tiny was going to save the day right from the opening scene.

That's the only scene in the movie I like.
