Enough with the Nazis!

it seems like writers fall back on the nazis as bad guys when they don't want to explain the characters. Oh he's a nazi so obviously he only thinks of world domination for the fuhrer. he has no soul and is not a real person just a nazi. Very very *beep* limp! AND LAZY!

I want to see a movie where the nazis are good guys. just for a change.

reply

Well bar the facts that the ideals of the nazis are observed by the incomrehesible vast majority of the worlds population as evil any film with Nazi good guys would be loathed by all except you I believe.

Also, having been made the scrolls protector 60 years ago who better than a Nazi, the ultimate evil back then, to have tried to get it?

reply

I think its just Hollywoods turn to have a pop at the Nazis again. It goes in cycles, Nazis, Brits, Diehard Communists, Nazis, Brits, Middle Eastern Terrorists, Nazis, Brits.

reply

What i like to have, is an explonation as to how the hell a platoon of germans managed to get from germany all the way to tibet, dressed in german uniforms to top it all, and in 1943 it's just laughable... Would make more sense if the movie would be after the war and have chinese be the bad guys, in reality they did kill monks and destroyed their temple. As communism isn't all too fond of anything religious.
Like in that other movie with brad pitt, 7 days in tibet.

reply

The Nazis did go to Tibet, like the many other places in the world they went to.

2 reasons why it fits in the movie:

1. Maybe a tribute to "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark."

2. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" got its idea from real life Nazi expeditions. Hitler and the Nazis were obsessed with the occult, and as such, the Ahnerbe organization was founded; it was devoted to research expeditions worldwide, most notably Tibet, from, guess what: 1938 to 1943.

What year in the movie did the platoon (really a squad) take the monastery? 1943.

In 1938, the Ahnerbe was officially made a department of the SS.

What uniform were Struker and the others wearing? SS uniforms. (An interesting note is about the officers' uniform he wore at the end of the movie: It appears that he received the Iron Cross, for what, who knows?)

For more information, these links are pretty good:

and

http://www.berzinarchives.com/kalachakra/nazi_connection_shambhala_tibet.html

An interesting comptuer game, "Grom", was also based on these Nazi activities.

It really is a fascinating subject; and there is no shortage of information on them either, for I'd estimate the amount of material written on the subject could fill a small-town library.

reply

And that all SS thing was taken from greeks and persians etc.. and they (greek and persians took that from others before them).. and so on..

reply

What do you have in mind by "thing" taken from Greeks and Persians?

reply

Special Soldiers forces.. so called Undead, etc...etc..

reply

If you and they dislike Nazi or NeoJewish (the same *beep* different pack) ideas it's totally ok to dont put any little thing about them in any movie or everywhere. That will do the thing. And by the way they put them in every movie etc.. they are just advertizing them for free..
There is a milion better things in the world to put in movies..than put either of these two..

reply

and not only that the nazis were into all kinds of freaky things to make themselves more powerful, i think you'd be surprised the crazy things they studied.

reply

I want to see a movie where the nazis are good guys. just for a change.

I think you'll be waiting a while. Being associated with an historical event such as The Holocaust, they are all to easy a symbol of evil. Conveniently they are used as such by writers when they want to convey evil without having to explain things too much.

I'm interested to hear what kind of a story you could come up with nazis as good guys though.

Padwanna.

In away the movie The Eagle has Landed makes nazis look kindof like good guys.
For example the first on to get killed is while he is saving a little girl.

Wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka!

Ever seen "Das Boot"? Or "The Eagle has Landed"? They're out there, but to think of Germans as anything but crazed monsters might lead the one or other American to re-examine himself -- and they might not altogether like what they see.

The most notable thing I can find about Germans and Americans is how utterly similar they really are to each other -- down to the same language ("homeland security" anybody?) and philosophy. Listen to the things Germans accuse Americans of and Americans accuse Germans of and you'll note that they're the exact same things. But that's already too subtle for the average American moviegoer (who is the target of Hollywood movies, of course).

It may be a good change for the nazi's to be the good guys, but what good did they do????????????????????????????????????????????????????? they killed people..HELLO!!!!!

I know they were only following orders and to some they took power into their own hands, when I saw this movie I thought.... what a surprise!!! a nazi wanting to take over the world (does this sound familiar or what?). I dont want to offend anyone, i'm not racist and what has happened has happened we cant change that, I think that hollywood has capitalized on this and especially the auchwitz rememberence just 2 days ago. It is a rememberence of the horrible crimes in those days but most of all it is a rememberence of how far we have come. to those invovled, to those who have survived, we are better people. I'm not a jew I'm not even religious but forgivness is devine. wel I hope anyway
it's only a movie... I can only say enjoy for the comedy and acting skills of sean william scott he is definately the man to make you laugh on when you're are feeling down

True... but the americans killed a lot of people in the last iraq war.. and yet they are being painted as the good guys...

You need to open your eyes and realise that history is written by the winners...

reply

I agree that the Nazi’s did very little that was good and that Hollywood does capitalize on them. But don't you think it would be a refreshing change to maybe take the perspective of a Nazi soldier, or maybe a Nazi leader. Just because the Nazi party did horrible things doesn’t mean that all people that were part of the Nazi party were evil (anyone seen Schindler's List?). As far as this movie goes, I concur that it is totally preposterous to have uniformed Germans during that time period trooping about in the Tibetan mountains, but you do need to keep in mind that this movie is a comity and really wasn’t made to reflect true events.

reply

So did the Americans! Besides the concentration camps were really created by the british in south africa!

Wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka!

reply

But the Nazis were brainwashed into thinking that what they were doing was for "the greater good" of the Aryan race. White skinned, blonde haired, blue eyed people were considered to be superior with the Nazis because there were, and are, so many of them in Germany (even though many of the Nazis were not blonde and did not have blue eyes). So they were thinking that by getting rid of the "impurities" in the world, the world would be a better place. I'm not condoning what the Nazis and Hitler did; in fact, it disgusts me! But they thought that they WERE good, so in a way, the Nazis WERE the good guys. It was just in Hitler's own, sick world that they were good. Hitler, however, is another story. He was actually half-Jewish on his father's side. He killed the Jewish because his father physically and sexually abused him when he was younger, and it warped his mind into thinking that all Jews were evil, bad, disgusting, impure people.

Dear me! What is that unpleasant aroma? I fear the sewer may have backed up during the night.

reply

There is its called the pianist. Well actually only one good nazi.

reply

Schindler's List..

Schindler was a nazi..

you'll find movies with nazi's that are good.... i don't think you'll find a movie where they paint nazism itself as good.

But thats only because people will take nazism as a whole and not in its parts. Like the person above said, history is written by the winners. Nazism started out on philosophies that people wanted to hear, and then was warped. But to compare what america is doing in the gulf to what the nazi's did in europe and to the jew nation is rediculous.

First of all, whoever said Americans were being painted as heros for Iraq is blind. Half of us Americans didn't agree with the war from the start. I have nothing but respect for the troops and I wish them luck and hope they make it home, that doesn't mean I agree with it.

I'm a big history buff, and there were plenty of people who were kind of like Hitler in the past, but keep in mind something: With the new technology available during WWII, and the unique set of coincidences that led to a genius/psychopath like Hitler coming to power, that was an extraordinary set of circumstances. Although there have been crazy leaders in the past, most of them were sane enough to try to subjugate rather than exterminate. The few that were not DID cause death on a huge scale, but seeing as how that was hundreds or even thousands of years ago, whereas Hitler was within living memory of at least a third of the world, of course he's being painted as the most hated man ever.

And whoever said that the winners write history is right. Stalin, Chairman Mao, and others committed horrible acts, and caused death that can only be second to Hitler, yet their side won. And look back in history. The new Chinese Communist government was being formed. The USSR was only around 30 years old. Hitler's 3rd Reich was only a few years old. The formation of a great deal of the world's nations, both today and in the past, revolve around bloodbaths. America's formation was no different.

I think Eddie Izzard was right about this:

"Stalin killed many millions, died in his bed, well done there; Pol Pot killed 1.7 million Cambodians, died under house arrest at age 72, well done indeed! And the reason we let them get away with it is because they killed their own people, and we're sort of fine with that. 'Ah, help yourself,' you know? 'We've been trying to kill you for ages!' So kill your own people, right on there. Seems to be… Hitler killed people next door. 'Oh, stupid man!' After a couple of years, we won't stand for that, will we?"

reply

But Stalin killed them for a reason, however injust it was. Hitler killed them because of their religion.

They were not only killed for their race/belief. It was rather a quite intrinsic plot. The whole "superior" race bit, why do you think that was proclaimed? Make people feel special and they will follow you, make them feel special in a time of a depression (yes, even Germany was in a depression, possibly even worse than the US) and they will follow you in a war against the world. Give them someone to demonize and blame everything on and you're good to go. Jews were utilized as a scape goat as they were the easiest people to get Europeans at the time to dislike. There was already great undue prejudice against them all accross the continent, other countries didn't really care about the whole thing because it didn't matter to them; hence one of the reasons jews were refused entrance to many nations during the halocaust. This whole thing was to get people to believe in something firmly and react to it. It was also an effort to aid in getting out of the massive depression they were in. Give the people a dream, however horrific that dream is, and it will all work out. Of course, I may be giving them a little too much credit, but I'm pretty sure I'm not.

Stalin did the same thing as did Mao. It is all in the effort to demonize one people as a scape goat. Oh, and the Stalin and Mao ones, if i remember my facts correctly, were actually in greater numbers than the Hitler one.

I agree again Naziism was based on Zion but the man who created zionism belived Anti-Semitism is bad!

Hollywood is found and controlled by jews and it is highly unlikely that they would let their holocaust propoganda get diluted by portraying the less demonic side of Nazis. Following is an extract of Marlon Brando's famous interview by Larry King:

"Hollywood is run by Jews; it is owned by Jews, and they should have a greater sensitivity about the issue of -- of people who are suffering. Because they've exploited -- we have seen the -- we have seen the *beep* and Greaseball, we've seen the *beep* we've seen the slit-eyed dangerous Jap, we have seen the wily Filipino, we've seen everything but we never saw the jew Because they knew perfectly well, that that is where you draw the wagons around"

So never expect the big studios to make films on the atrocities committed by Israel or a film on the plight of palestinians. Arabs are supposed to be evil afterall and the "chosen ones" are always benevolent. I would consider myself fortunate enough if this message is not deleted by the administrators of this forum. Since this is film related, there has to be a jew pulling the strings somewhere.

reply

Looks like history is going the same way as evolution.
If you don't learn from the mistakes of the past, you're doomed to repeat them.

This movie is ok in a lazy hollywwood kind of way. The plot is like a string vest, but Chow Yun Fat manages not to take himself too seriously, unlike the two bland co-stars. Earnest mugging, but zero talent.
The mockney gang leader and the posh brit nazi granddaughter are a bit one dimensional too. Best bit was probably the pole fight during the intro.
Unfortunately, it soon degenerated into Ersatz Deadly Fists of Disney III.

Just when you thought people couldn't get any more gullible...ever actually think for yourself or anything? Me, I'm a WASP, but I'm not stupid or paranoid enough to worry about a group with a population of approximately 4 million in the States taking over anything except kosher delis.

reply

Ignorance OR agenda....huh?

reply

Yeah, that'll work. Really, I'm quite aware of the treatment of Palestinians -- information which, amazingly, the almighty Jews haven't managed to keep from me. ::rolls eyes:: Really, paranoia will only take you so far before you get hit by a bus while running around to avoid the alien mind rays.

I think the inclusion of Nazis in this movie was true to the comic book. That's all. They were the bad guys during the time and the comic book needed bad guys chasing after the scrolls.

You are going to have to wait a couple of hundred years before you see Nazis portrayed in a favoriable light, if then. The fact is, the Nazis didn't do much good on this planet. OK-yeah-they promoted modern medical science but that's because they were using (mostly Jewish) prisoners to carry out their horrific experiments.

So--you're gonna have to wait until people 'forget' how treacherous the nazis were, before you see a movie that portrays them in a favorable light.

Keep dreamin' and reincarnate in about 250 years.

If you want a movie where Nazis are portrayed nicely then watch the movies Nazis made themselves!

Good point -- it can't be that hard to find Leni Riefenstahl's work.

Soon we must all face the choice -- between what is right, and what is easy.
