Anyone else notice this plot hole

The race wars race between Jesse and Johnny Tran; In one shot before the race, Tran is wearing a tank top. Then in the next shot, still before the start of the race, he is wearing a tee shirt. Why would Johnny Tran change his shirt in his car before the start of the race?
