Why does everyone speak english but anything in print is in russian/german?

Kind of confusing. Why do they speak english anyways?

I guess because people are too lazy to read subtitles? can't say the english dialog took anything away from this masterpiece..

Language is usually my only take away from great war movies like this one and schindlers list for example.
