Monica leaving him in the woods


First time i have seen this movie in many years.... Question: instead of leaving him and Teddy in the woods, why didn't Monica just turn David off and bury him? I don't get why she would not just turn the machine off.

I think a recurring theme in this film is the rotten-ness of humans.

1. Ruining the planet through (the fantasy of) Global Warming.
2. The Doctor exploiting the memory of his son to create an exploitive product.
3. The father exploiting his wife's grief by committing her to the "project" without first discussing it with her. Remember? "You have to sign, too!"
4. Both parents switching gears on their responsibility to the company and "David" as soon as (that brat) Martin returned to life.
5. The father abdicating his responsibility to his wife and the company by somehow manipulating Monica to abandon David in the woods with instructions to avoid the company. He SHOULD have followed his agreement and returned the kid to be humanely turned off or recycled.
6. The dumping of possible toxic trash in the woods. I assume this was widespread due to its openness.
7. The incredibly evil representation of humans as bloodthirsty animals in the "Flesh Fair."
8. The comparison of the empathetic and sympathetic characters of the Nanny (whom I fell in love with!) and "Joe."
9. The quickness to judge others shown by the cops instantly believing Joe killed that woman. They could've downloaded his memory or I'm sure downloaded some surveillance devices. I'm sure they'd have had them, given how much we're on cameras or recorded even in our homes ("smart" TVs, Alexa, Siri). This quickness was also displayed in the two incidents at David's home: Using scissors to cut Mommy's hair and the defensive reflex resulting in David almost drowning Martin (if only!). Henry MUST have considered David was innocent both times since he helped develop David's "Three Rules" type of protection of humans.
10. That nauseating - and very expensive - "Rouge City" basically to satisfy the baser urges. It looked like the old TImes Square times ten to the thirteenth.

There's probably more, but that should suffice. I attribute it to Spielberg's "liberal" bent. That seems to involve a disgust for "the masses."
