Don't know about #1.

Regarding #2; Of course they have to remove the TV monitors before putting the guy thru a table. Do you know how much it will hurt if they got their bodies slammed on TV monitors? The way the tables are constructed, the wrestler feels some pain obviously but not nearly as much as another table

Re #1: You're right. This only really makes sense in highly physical contests where one guy wants to PROVE he's better than the other guy. For cowardly heels a count-out makes all the sense in the world to secure a victory. For rankings where count-out victories don't move you up or there's some other stipulation, then it makes sense to secure a pinfall. Heck, in kayfabe you would think they would have a tournamnet or rule-set where you don't get title shots based on count-out victories, so you have some jobbers constantly trying to rack up wins by count-outs/DQs just so he has a high win count but it doesn't mean anything. AEW could run with a storyline like that if Khan and the other execs weren't stupid.

Re #2: Back in the Attitude era they sometimes wouldn't remove the stuff, and Randy Orton will sometimes back body drop someone on a table without removing stuff either to make it look more impactful, but yeah, it looks ridiculous when the guy is cleaning off the table instead of just carefully slamming his opponent on the table to make it look more legitimate.
