I really don't know why it bombed as badly as it did as it has some very funny performances and sequences in it. Annette Benning was not only funny but brought that insecure character to life. Greg Kinnear is really good in it too. I remember.the weekend after it opened and Bryant Gumble making fun of it on his morning show at the time, calling it one of the worst movies he'd ever seen. It's an original comedy about the battle of the sexes and has some great comic work from its talented cast. Killed off poor Garry's movie career except in throwaway supporting roles. .

I agree. Watched this for the first time today, and was laughing throughout. Very funny with a great cast.
