Kind of what it boiled down to. A bit ponderous for me.
Interesting, but over-wrought. And over-long.
John C. Reilly, William H. Macy, Phillip Baker Hall, Phillip Seymour Hoffman?
shareGreat cast. Great performances, very much including Cruise, whom I personally hate.
It was the weary bleary content that left me cold.
A worthy film, a serious statement, don't get me wrong - but somehow thematically unbalanced, simplistic, manipulative. But honest - JC Reilly's character was sort of the saving grace, the hope. Wasn't a lot of it.
