I have to agree with you there Carinita21. That part made me laugh so much, i mean no-one was doing anything to help her-especially her boyfriend Bobby! He was just standing there laughing!! Then he says something like "come on, you're hurting her man." Wtf, thats not gonna help, DO SOMETHING!! LOL I love this film!
Jason Stackhouse: Were you listenin' to me?... I got gout of the dick!
"The funniest part, when Greg beats up Cindy. That is the best!"
It's interesting, because you don't really see that anywhere else. The media avoids violence against women like plague - especially men hitting women. You almost NEVER see that! And even then, you never see them hit the face.
Whenever someone first hits a man, when it comes to a woman's turn, they always push or throw her or something. NEVER hit, especially in the face.
Even in this movie, the only time Cindy gets hit in the face is when Doofy throws the ice bag into her forehead, and when the camera bumps her.
It's the result of the inequal, oppressive matriarchy that we live in - the misandry is everywhere, and practically every movie and TV show is full of it.
So women kicking men in the groin (seems to be a misandry favorite, you see this all the time), women slapping men in the face without men hitting back, women punching men, women kicking men, women simply being violent against men - all this is very easy to bump into, but it's very, very hard to find the situations with genders reversed.
THAT is the reason why it surprises in this movie - no one on this planet is accustomed to seeing that, so it's a surreal experience, and surreal experiences have a tendency to make people laugh.
I'd like to see more of it (or less violence against men), just for equality's sake, but also because it's so much funnier, EXACTLY because it's so rare. A woman hitting a man is the norm, the run-of-the-mill-cliché that ceased to be funny probably like 90 years ago or so.
But a man hitting a woman is so funny, that even when it happens in "real life" videos, like you can find on youtube, it's hard not to giggle or laugh out loud, even if the reaction happens purely because of surprise. There's a funny video where a woman slaps a man, and then the man kneels and the woman feels victorious, thinking the man is going to beg for mercy or apologize - and then the man launches a punch right into between her legs! POW! Just like they always do to men in sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many videos and movies and TV shows - and then he simply gets back up and walks calmly away, while the bítch remains there, crouching, cursing and yelling and .. well, you just got to see it, it's funny.
Now, I don't condone or like violence, but in this kind of a crazy world, where all you see is violence against men everywhere, even if you try to avoid seeing violence, it IS a refreshing change to see at least SOME equality brought into the table.
Men are oppressed worse than black people were 100 years ago. The methods of oppression have changed a bit, but men are expected to give a seat to women just like black people were expected to give their seats for white people. Men dig diamonds for ungrateful women just like black people dug diamons for ungrateful white people.
Yes. Men are the diggers of the world. Well, it would be more truthful to use the other word, but I think this post contains enough controversy for one evening already.
And yes, I agree with you - that IS the funniest and best part of the movie - but I must also admit, that after not seeing this movie for many years, I had forgotten how incredibly FUNNY this is (I have seen a lot of other movies in the mean time, including the sequels, and enjoyed them)!
This is way funnier than I remembered/expected .. NOW I see why people say the sequels suck - I didn't like the second one that much, but I think third and fourth have some really hilarious parts. But this first one, it's a real gem, it's like constant serial-shooting of funniness that never gets old!
Like, when they laugh about some 30-year old people acting as them if 'this was a movie', really made me laugh.
I wish some other movie would have the backbone, balls and guts of this movie (not to be taken LITERALLY <- a note added after I remembered the "Ms. Mann"-scene), and show more of this "anything goes"-type stuff, where even EQUALITY is possible (a rare thing, especially nowadays)!
And equality means that women should share the responsibilities, dirty jobs, expectations, obligations and punishments that men receive just because they are men, AND that men should also get the free passes, the privileges, the leisure, the resources and the organizations and support that women automatically receive, just for being women.
this post is disgusting and I hope this comment makes the OP go back and read the ignorant sh*t he posted nearly two years ago. OP, you need to delete this.
Everything that Ghostface said and/or did made me laugh...
"I'm gonna slash and gash, cut another hole in your ass. I spill blood on the walls, then play tennis with your balls! If the phone rings, don't answer the call. Gonna slit your throat, *beep* you like a goat, peel your foreskin off and make a winter coat. Peace!"
"I'm in the house...heeheehee!"
"WHAZZZZZZUUUUUUUUUUUP?!?"
"You will get precisely the news you deserve if you accept mediocrity." Nick Clooney
The whole scene with Ghostface stalking Cindy inside her house. When he hid under the rug (very poorly) I cracked up. Then Ghostface chases Cindy up the stairs, and she throws the piano back and he quickly runs back downstairs. That's the one thing I remembered from the commercial 10 years ago, but it still makes me laugh.
Oh, and Ghostface becoming more and more mellow as he got high...
