Its so peculiar to read comments by former military personnel who immediately speak ill of a film for its alleged failure to portray it (war basic training or the military in general "like it was". I suspect some of this comes from a heart felt respect for their own lives but given the fact that movies (unless offered as a documentary) are either or loosely based on facts. Now follow me through on this because your brain is about to be challenged.
When it comes to movies about American racism or dare it be fictitious often the sentiment is,"oh it [racism]really was not as bad as the movie portrayed". Neither is universal and few have met an actual survivor of slavery but the point it both subjects are often dramatized yet the demand for accuracy of fact is often used against more radical interpretations of war and the American military while a less demand is placed on movies dealing with slavery.
Do military personal who are fans of movies share popcorn with those who tend to shy away from the brutalities of slaves; or is more radial portrayals of our failures too difficult for patriots to handle?

Tigerland and slavery? I wonder why was this misinformed person replying to me on TIGERLAND. Then I saw where I opened this can of worms. I segued into it so now I must digest the hogwash with some of the inaccuracies of your post. You make me wonder if you are trying for a passing grade or did you fail miserable in AMERICAN HISTORY and just insist on maintaining your position on a bad bad paper you wrote....
