What if Tim Burton directed this movie instead of Ron Howard?

I wonder how this film could have been different if Tim Burton directed it instead of Ron Howard, since he was originally slated to direct the movie. Would it be the same as the 1989 Batman?

A Christmas'y Beetlejuice comes to mind.

It might have been interesting, but then I would think that Johnny Depp would have played the Grinch, since he has been known to work with Johnny Depp. I don't know if Jim Carrey and Tim Burton have ever worked on a film together, at least none then I know of. But as the saying is, there is always a first time for everything.

It still would have been garbage. Except there would be an army of pretentious douchebags insisting that it was a groundbreaking film.

^Your attitude is garbage.

If Burton had directed, it would have been a much better looking movie. Burton is a stronger visual director then Ron Howard, however the script was pretty bad so I don't think the movie would have been any better.

Helena Bonham Carter as Cindy Lou?

The Neutrinos are mutating

Well since Ron Howard now uses Anthony Dod Mantle as his DP, i'm not so sure about that.

I watched this film again the other night, and it does feel like something Tim Burton could've directed. I mean, if you look at Tim Burton's films (especially his earlier stuff like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and Beetlejuice), they often play like demented live-action cartoons. The Grinch just like Bruce Wayne in Burton's Batman even has his own personal "bat-cave".

It's directed as an impression of Tim Burton. Ron Howard never used this style again.
