THE END

Imdb is discontinuing these message boards on Feb 20th.

So long to all my fellow Mulholland Drive fans.

From here on out it's nothing but . . .

and I will go through the blue box.....

It is a darn shame that the entire discussion over many years about this film will disappear.

reply

Just heard the news. What a shame. So many great discussions. Some not so great sure but still... I'm saddened.

No hay boards.

As I mentioned on one of the Twin Peaks boards earlier, I plan to create a Twin Peaks chat room on AOL, on a daily basis if I can, when IMDb closes this down.

It'll be a room to discuss all things Lynch of course.

Back in the day there was a TP's room and it was fairly active. Maybe word will get around and at least a few fans will converge and convo it up on Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, etc.

It would be a dream place.

You can imagine how I'd feel.

Hmmmm . . curious remark.

Anyway, I signed the petitions and of course hope that IMDb (Colin et. al.) don't pull the plug.

But I'm not counting on it.

As far as people following "me" to AOL . . well, thankfully you don't speak for everyone.

Even though you just did.

So good luck on your venture of replacing this worldwide IMDb forum on your personal AOL page.

An absurd claim.

To clarify, my post was intended to inform those interested there is at least one option for discussing TP's outside of this message board.

Anyone can create a TP's chat room on AOL (not a "personal page" as you suggested). Back in the day this was common. Regulars met there and on any given day, any given person would create the room. Fans would discuss the show. Everyone enjoyed.

For reasons I don't remember. I drifted away from that type of forum, as did so many. I assume it was because AOL wasn't as big a draw in general, so the less frequent trafficking of their chat rooms was inevitable.

Good luck getting IMDb to change their mind.

I can see you're a very persuasive person.

I didn't post much over here, but it was fun to pop in once in a while to read theories and interesting posts on MD. As it is my favorite film this board will always have a special place in my heart

reply

There is a petition floating around for those waving imdb to keep the boards. Sign up!

reply

Goodbye Thespear. in case we never chat again.

reply

It was great reading you both over the years, along with kevin (wherever he is), bsharp, jjohnson, nikki, et. al.

Maybe we'll stumble upon a common MD watering hole again one day.

reply

Who are you? I dont remember seeing you a few years ago when this board was active so maybe you were a different user name.

reply

Oh, I knew I was forgetting someone, you too dropkick.

Sorry about that.

I've always been this user. In fact, I stumbled across a particular thread from this board from many years ago the other day. It was fun to read the posts and note how some have modified their thoughts on MD since that time.

If I find it (it's already misplaced -- I've moved recently), I'll post a little for old times sake. I don't recall if you were part of the exchange or not. But you've been fun and interesting too, sorry for the previous omission.

That's the problem of listing names, someone is always left out.

reply

Oh sorry, got it. It's too bad activity on this baord slowed to a crawl in recent years, it was quite active from 2008-2011 (especially during the Purcell and Berny Elms era). INLAND EMPIRE was also a wild place, back in the day.

reply

This board is one of the many reasons why they shouldn't be shut down. You don't punish everyone for the idiocy of a few. It's very disappointing.

reply

Any good sites for talking about the film or other movies once imdb boards go away?

reply

I would recommend this one:

good luck everyone,

...Credo quia absurdum...

reply

Yikes! Glad I checked in! Did they send out any email notifications? I don't recall seeing one. I will need to see what these other social media sites offer.

reply

There were no email notifications that I'm aware of . . . just the memo at the top of this page (and all other IMDb pages of course).

I confident that for MD convo we'll all find ourselves again on one of a couple of boards available out there.

Between chat rooms, messages boards, etc., the MD community will survive.

See you on the other side.

reply

Any refugees from the old thread still around?

reply

Yes.

reply

Time to get the old band back together!

reply

Ok. So Now how do we find them???

reply

I think they'll have to find us.

Hello Chip how are the other 3 sons???

Does this video mean that we'll find the others we're looking for down in Acapulco???

reply

My guess is that we'll find them living on Wisteria Lane in Odessa, Texas.

reply

Brilliant conclusion Agent Speratrix !!!

Yes we probably need to go to that same location (was it 460 ???) and try to find them there near or at that Diner in ODESSA.

But wasn't JUDY's DINER also in OKLAHOMA???
