Was there some controversy over Mila Kunis' casting?

She lied about her age to get on the show( She was 14 when she auditioned, and told the producers she'd be 18 in an unspecified number of months), and was really the only actor in the main cast to be High School age. Given some of the content of this show was there any bit of controversy over her casting?

I'm amazed she managed to blag her way on to the show. I've always assumed a young actor or actress would have to provide proof of their age before finding employment on a film or television show. The producers must have realised early on that she'd lied, especially when she didn't even give them a definitive answer about her 18th birthday. Aren't there strict laws in California regarding child actors and their schoolwork and what they can and can't do without their parents being present on set?

All I know is they're only allowed to work a maximum amount of hours on set everyday, which I believe is 10. And that's actually not a lot for an actor on a tv show, but if that was the case with her I never noticed her being less present than the rest of the cast.

Kinda creepy knowing Kutcher was like 20 kissing a little girl

Just one correction - she was not the only one high school age. Kelso was 20, but Donna and Eric were 18.

Michelle Williams cast as the promiscuous one in Dawson's Creek was only 15.
