Strange, but I keep routing for Kevin Bacon

Every time I watch it I end up routing for Kevin Bacon's character because everyone else is so boring.

It's the weirdest thing with this movie.
Then when she blows him with the fire I'm thinking, that b*tch.
He almost made it.
I was more interested in seeing what he would do after leaving the lab than whether the rest of the cast survived or not.

Few movies have such a boring characters so arrogant, and unlikable that I actually want the bad to win.

Kevin Bacon's character, even as psychotic as he is, seems to be the only character in this movie to possess any depth.

true that i reckon.

Lenda made it hard for herself to be dubbed "the hero". so much provocation came from her, and her lack of humbleness only seemed to work for her (as always for basic character heroes). the rest of the crew was so dumb tho, they didnt execute nothing right...oh well.

i always root for the bad guy tho. but then turn it off cus @ the end the bad guy die! lol

Not another brainless "everyone freaks out cus nobody's older than 30" movie...

Damn you. I'd forgotten about that element. Always a kill joy looming from behind just waiting to think of a way bring out the negative.

maybe he only scared her ,because the camera wasn't there to show the whole crime scene ? it was wrong even tough you,d probably do it too if you knew for a moment that you,d have to stay like that invisible forever woulndt you

Well, I like your honesty. If a person knew they could get away with something like that with absolutely no consequences under such an extreme circumstance it's logical to assume that they might try.
Human nature isn't always pretty, but it is what it is whether we like it or not.

I was rooting for him. Everybody acted like a smuck in this movies. Especially Elisabeth Shue.

What "route" are you people giving him? The route to the elevator, then his car? He already knew that. The "route" to get out and kill everybody who knew about his condition? He already knew that.

Unless of course you meant you were "rooting" for him.

Heck yea. strange.. now that you mention that, it seems I really routed for Bacon in The River Wild also, anyone else? other films where the "bad" win your favor??

yea same. It would have been nice for a change to see the "bad guy" win for once in a movie. The possibilities of Sebastian being invisible in the outside world would've of been endless and he was the only likable or at least interesting character in the movie.

Well,Sarah was my favourite character.And I DO root for Kevin Bacon.But I would NEVER root for Sebastian Caine!!!

And why were they still in the lab?Wouldn't they have all been sent home since the project was cancelled?

And I don't understand how Sebastian went straight to killing his teammates.He SHOULD have been working with them to find a cure.

Plus I'm curious as to how he would have killed the rest of the team!!!

I mean he WASN'T a soldier,and had no military training.So he didn't really know HOW to kill a person,he just grabbed whatever he could find.

And how the hell does HE know how to snap a neck?

I think he killed them because he started to like being hollow man and also the co workers of his were talking about telling on him to the goverment who paid for all the experiments

It doesn't take much to snap a neck, anyone can do it. Also you don't need "military training" to kill a bunch of people. Most serial killers don't have military training and they're mass murderers lol. Most of the kills at the end were pretty simple that anyone with strength can pull off. There was nothing elaborate going on.

I also found myself rooting for Kevin Bacon in this movie. Other movies I found myself rooting for the antagonist: Tom Cruise in Collateral and Lt. Hoffman in Saw 3D. There's probably a couple of more movies, but those are the top two that popped in my mind.

It's not so strange, in movies like these you end up rooting for the villain simply because he's the most interesting character in the movie.

and dont forget that a lot of people also identified with the losing of the girlfriend and the way she was acting ,they all act like that when they get a new boyfriend so yeah love this movie i was kevin in the movie i was hoping for a diffrent ending where he ended up killing everybody

hahaha for sure the only movie of him that i didnt like was the one where he is a soldier or general of the army or somthing like that and he has to take some dead body with him on a journey to the dead persons home i think dont remenber too much about it cause it was boring me to death the 4 or 5 times i saw it :)

what ,what, what ,i havent seen that one a few good men ;) but the movie im saying its called "taking chance" guys is a tv movie and one of the last movies he has made

Not only was I rooting for him to win, I was kind of hoping that we would get to see more of what an invisible man like Sebastian would do without having to check back in (since he wasn't suppossed to be out in the 1st place).

Just my one cent since I can't afford two.

I dunno, it's hard to me to root for a guy who rapes a woman and gloats about it and brutally kills a dog because it was just annoying him.

I rooted for the gorilla btw.

@DukeRed.I'm with you.Apparently the people on this thread have no problem with any of that.His behavior(Killing people,Raping the lady and Killing a innocent dog) isn't that bad to them.

Perhaps someone thought (when writing) it would be a better for the main heroes if they make out behind Kevin Bacon's back probably a excuse for sex which is problematic because your suppose to like your hero instantly.
