how old are fans?

I was just wondering how old fans of this movie are? whether you were the same age as the characters/older/younger?

I remember over 5 years ago or more, I'd always see this movie at Blockbuster and had an interest to see it (always found Thora Birch interesting) but never took the plunge. Saw it for the first time 2 months ago and wow... really wished I watched it sooner. Tempted to order the dvd now. Also developed a crush on Steve Buscemi. >< But any-who I am 21.

Like the director, I was born in 1949, but my high-school friends were a lot like Enid. It was the mid-sixties and we listened to jug-band music from the '20's and dressed ironically in baggy cuffed corduroy slacks and Hush Puppies...

I'm 23, I think I first watched it in my late teens. I watched it tonight, maybe I shouldn't have, I'm probably not in the best state of mind. I can sadly, really relate to Enid and Seymour's characters in this. I hope I can get on my own bus one day...
