Please please please Nicole, you cannot act.

Say what you will about Nicole Kidman but she without a doubt one of the finest actresses over the last several years. Even though like any actor or actress she has had a few roles that wasn't well suited for her after all was said and done. People are quick to judge when more often not the fault lies in the script, plot or direction for a bad performance. Like everything in life a person is only as good as the hand they are dealt to play with which holds true with Nicole Kidman and her peers. Even co-stars can have an effect on how well ones acting is presented. As you may have surmised I am a fan of Nicole Kidman because I do think she is an excellent actress as well as one of the most beautiful women in the business today, but at the same time has made a few movies I really don't care for, not because of her acting but because the movie overall is basically unwatchable. As a Vietnam veteran with over 3 years in country as a helicopter crew chief I do have a problem with the war scenes in Cold Mountain but that still doesn't take away from the movie overall. I just turn my head or whatever to blank out the battle scenes or the wounded depictions.

Agreed. Just watched it again and sweetheart no matter fab you think you are, you need a dialect coach. My friend is a dialect coach. He has coached Gerad Butler and Helen Mirren and don't think you're too good for Helen Mirren!
