Quite possibly the most underrated movie ever

The rating, and people's treatment of this movie are simply ridiculous. 6.4? Are you kidding? It's not just on imdb - most people have either never heard of this movie, or say that it's boring. This has got to be one of Redford's best movies, if not the best.

I can easily sit through this movie 50 times and not get bored once. This movie easily deserves to be on the Top 250, when other crap like "Ratatouille" is on there. Look at some of the other movies this movie is rated below. It's amazing that overrated garbage like 'Kill Bill' is on there, but this film has been rated "1" multiple times.

Decidedly so. Rated by a bunch of life's losers, I guess. All it does it make this so much more of a gift to those fortunate enough to be able to appreciate it.

If you do analyse the scoring votes, though, you will notice two things: (1) the 10's outnumber the 1's, 2's and 3's put together - by a large margin, and (2) the score from the IMDb staff is significantly higher than the overall.

yeah, this movie has multiple levels.

It's probably my all-time favorite movie, even with its flaws. It didn't do very well at the box office, though...I saw this in a theater in Columbus, OH, when it came out in 2000. There were only two other people in the theater with me, both high-school girls.

I think they made a mistake releasing this movie in the Fall. They should have released it in the Spring or early Summer, IMO.

A great movie. Its distractors (like Spike Lee) try to make it racial. It's a philosophical tale not set in the real world.
