ok its set in the days after Xmas day (28/29/30/31 December) but theres alot of Christmas imagery, Christmas trees, NYC at Xmas, defiantly looks like a gloomy winter NYC (although no snow.. maybe was filmed in summer?)
sharei consider it a christmas movie fo the reasons you stated. i hate the week after christmas leading to new year so i watch it one or two nights during then.
shareI just (re)watched it now for first time in maybe a decade (and before that saw it in cinema in 99). Actually I was sort of half watching it the other night on TV but it was just in the background as i was messing about online. then tonight thought you know now I actually want to watch EoD properly so dug out the DVD (played on a bluray its almost HD) .. I hadn't realised before (or just forgotten) just how much Christmas imagery there is.. Christmas lights and decorations and trees in every other scene (including a T1000 Christmas tree lol) I guess everyone going on about how Die Hard is or isn't a Christmas movie now has me look at other Christmas set movies and take note of how much Christmas stuff there is
