Cronenberg's worst movie

I've only seen back to The Brood, so maybe he made a worse film before that. I just can't like anything about it. It's such rehash. Everything in this movie was done a thousand times better in Naked Lunch. What a waste of Jude Law and Jennifer Jason Leigh. On a positive note, without this film he may not have shifted into more grounded dramatic territory, which would've been a shame. A History of Violence and Eastern Promises are two of my favorites.

That's funny that you brought up Naked Lunch, because I think its one of Cronenberg's worst. A puppet movie.

Of the ~15 films seen of his, my lowest rated are Rabid and Cosmopolis at 5/10, with Dead Ringers and The Fly at the top with a 9/10. I gave Naked Lunch a 7/10 back in the day, so I didn't dislike it, but have never desired to watch it again, while I've seen most of his films multiple times, including this one, an 8/10 imo.
