Cigarette in the ear

Why Adele put a cigarette in her ear and slightly twisting it before she lights it?

Is it a smoker thing? I've seen a lot of people smoking, but I've never seen this.

It's in the short scene when she answers the phone with Chino, right before Foley and Buddy spotting the gardening FBI agents.
