Why didn't he wake up

The Great Stone Dragon was already summoned and Mulan became the embodiment of it. After Mulan runs away from home on Khan (the horse), the camera dollies towards the Stone Dragon's face and notice how his eyes are shining.

With that in mind, it puzzles me why the ancestors didn't know this already, but it's told us that they sleep.

What we do in life, echoes in eternity.

He was crushed and lived in mulan. I like that

Because Mushu broke him. But I've wondered myself if he was really able to come alive as Mushu did.

Does that imply Mushu killed him. That's going to go over great with the Ancestors, isn't it?

Well, since the scene is made for comedic purposes, I doubt that it was intentional that Mushu killed him. But the film never made a fuzz about that.
