The scene with the decapitated ant head is fucked up.

Looking back at Antz, I can't believe the movie got away with a PG-rating. Especially the scene with the talking decapitated ant head. The scene does almost too good a job at showing the absolute horrors of war.

The most "hilarious" thing is that I don't even remember the scene at all when I watched the movie as a kid. I do remember the brutal termite war, but my brain instead remembers the comrade having his whole body in tact while dying in Z's arms.

So years later when I went back to watch the movie and when it gets to the part after the war, I see the talking decapitated head and I'm like..."What the fuck is this shit??" LOL!

I saw this movie as a child (8 years old) and that scene was really hard for me. I thought I was the only one. And yes, it perfectly depicts war and imminent death from injury.

Insects are different and can take brutal injury, can pick up their body parts and they don't suffer in the same way. Humans so entitled..
