Adam Sandler's Last Hurrah

Just realized this movie came out over 10+ years ago. I can't remember another movie since that was as funny or as good since.

I abso-fvcking-lutly agree.

When I watch comedies today they do not touch the waterboy.

People want smart clever comedies, not me my friend. I want something that is gonna make me cry because it's so funny.

I apologize for grammatical errors- a side effect of IMDbing on my iPhone.

I thought his 'Big Daddy' was good.

Wedding Singer?

He's done tons of good movies since the Waterboy. Big daddy, anger management, click, 50 first dates, chuck and Larry, the zohan?

reply

Nope the original poster is correct. Waterboy was the last truly funny of his movies. The rest since then just had a couple funny parts but always were brought down by trying to be sentimental as well so they lacked the spirit of Billy M, Happy G. etc. But they made him lots of money, so who wouldn't follow the same road.

Neither one of you are right or wrong. it is simply your opinion that Sandler hasn't made a good comedy since 1998. An opinion I and a lot others disagree. Each their own.

However as far as success goes he's done more things that's done just as well if not better since.

NO! Mama's right! You're wrong!

He was great in Funny People.

I was actually thinking about this while watching the Waterboy the other night and would some what agree.

His career has not totally noise dived after this, as he has had some "alright" movies and a couple of sleeper hits.... problem is, these are all lost within the tones of rubbish he has churned out since Waterboy.

This movie definitely comes at the tail end of his mid 90's hot streak run.

Anger Management and Funny People are probably the highlights......

Big Daddy was fully although that was around the time he decided he was too old to play immaturity. Probably after he did get praise for the wedding singer, he decided to try and play more serious characters or maybe he thought it would just be too extreme playing those kinds of characters well into his 40's.

Though he did play a good role as a drunken idiot in thats my boy.

Yep...?
