Horrible Ending!!! Spoilers!!!!!!!

Dont get me wrong, I loved the movie, but the very last scene, where Leary and Walken confront and kill Flanery and his girlfriend practically negated the whole movie!!!

Does anyone know if there is or ever was an alternate ending? If so I would like to see it.

reply

Why is it a horrible ending? They got what they deserved. And yeah, there are couple alternative endings on the disc that are considered "Happy" I suppose.

i actually prefer the happy ending to the one that ended up in the film i just really wanted them to get away with it

reply

my only problem with the alt endings is the idiot director talks through the entire scene.

doesnt matter though, since i love the fact that that idiot max and elise got theirs.

reply

See i would have like the movie better if walken and leary had never shown up on the boat. It's like the "they actually pulled it off" ending without the cheesy-ness of walken letting them go.

LUV UR ENEMYS,IT'LL PSYCHE THEM OUT

VIVA DAKOTA!

reply

OH I KNOW!!

I just checked out the alternate endings for the first time last night and the dude talks through the whole endings!!! Ruined it.

As I watched them last night I found that while the scenes are playing you can switch to a second audio track which removes the director's blabbering.

"You hate people!"
"But I love gatherings, isn't it ironic?"

reply

Like someone said, they got what they deserved. It didn't negate the movie, it was a point to be made on just who exactly the "bad guys" are in life.

I sold my voice to pay for my security.

reply

wow, the majority of the movie-watching public, are too retarded to realize that they can switch audio tracks. How shameful.

reply

People who think it's okay to use that term aren't worth listening to. Grow up.

Are you joking? the ending validates everything Walken has said and done to that point. Did you really expect him to just walk away from the situation; especially since the entire premise was based on a lie.

I think, maybe - there was a chance he'd be content to move on with his life but not once he figured out it was all a lie concocted by two spoiled kids who wanted to live the good life without actually working for it.

Definitely disagree with the original poster. After what Max and Elise done to Charlie, along with lying to their friends and Elise to her brother, they got exactly what they deserved in my opinion. I much preferred the original ending over the alternate ones.

reply

The ending is perfect. It's the only way that it could end. You fuck with the bull, you get the horn. Charlie didn't get where he was in life by letting people "get away" with anything!

reply

Exactly. I don't recall any of the alternate endings, but I would have been disappointed if they had gotten away with it.

I disagree. Charlie was a hardened criminal who has a code of honor. Charlie was mutilated because of the actions of these two. If anything, they got off easy considering that Charlie had fed his neighbors to his neighbor's dogs. The ending validated Charlie's reputation and reason as to why everyone feared Charlie.
