I always thought this.... They could've made funny sequels with this mouse in that mansion with other families maybe ....Disney....

More like a mixture of Laurel & Hardy and a WB cartoon. Much more absurd than Home Alone.

shareIt's been a long time since I saw this but wasn't the mansion destroyed at the end? And the mouse adopted by the brothers in their cheese factory to be their taster? Doesn't really lend itself to that kind of sequel.
shareCheese factory attacked by rats with a colorful leader, possibly with an eye patch (voiced by Clancy Brown?). The brothers and their mouse companion must defend their factory... on the very eve of a coming health department inspection. Get Jamie Lee Curtis to play the health inspector... Shoot. It would practically write itself.
It really was a live action cartoon.
