Kids Dying in Movies

When the last time you saw some kids get absolutely owned like in this movie? I was shocked, you don't see that very often. I can think of...
-From Dusk Till Dawn (the fat Asian boy) by the Vampires
-That one movie where the guy gets killed by the Cougar... can't remember the name

Can you name any more?

Have we all forgotten Jaws and Jaws 2. With several kids being eaten by a killer Great White Shark! The film Hook where Rufio the Leader of the Lost Boys was killed in a climatic duel with Captain James Hook the antagonist of the film. Others would be; The young boy killed by Henry Fonda's Frank in Sergio Leone's Once Upon A Time In The West. The skinny dipping couple in the opening of the original Piranha movie and later school of bathers at the camp for kids who are attacked by the piranhas.

The young kid who goes out on a picnic with his family from the movie; The Swarm. Although it must be said he only dies in the extended cut not the theatrical version though. There's also the young man in Stephen King's The Mist (2007) who is on of the first victims taken by those alternate dimensional parasite beings and is graphically killed in the supermarket loading bay, by the creature with massive tenticles.

I'm sure there's even more kid/young teenager deaths that i can't think of right now but yeah, when the actual topic comes up, it isn't as easy as you may like to think it is?

Heh, i'm sure if somebody had directed Jurassic Park besides Spielberg and the last one Jurassic Park 3. There would've been way more kid deaths in the film. Seeing as Spielberg changed over Jurassic Park alot from the original book of Michael Crichton, i reckon another director would've taken bigger risks and shown kids getting harmed. I mean for example who's going to believe that in Joe Johnston's; Jurassic Park 3. A kid can survive alone on a island thats got killer dinosaurs running about and live for that long a period of time?

Anyways another would be Damian: Omen 2. Damian's cousin Mark who is killed by him when he finds out his secret (that Damian is the son of the Devil/Satan). Gage Creed in Pet Sematary. And also the hillbilly kid in East Houston Idaho who is killed by one of the supervillains (Non) in Superman 2 upon the order of General Zod. Extended TV cut only mind you.

List so far...

1) Jaws

2) Jaws 2

3) Hook

4) Once Upon A Time In The West

5) Piranha

6) The Swarm

7) Stephen King's The Mist

8) Damian: Omen 2

9) Pet Sematary

10) Superman 2 TV extended cut

You ever seen Dead Men Walking? It's a pretty bad movie but there is a whole scene I remember were a little girl(s?) gets gored by a zombie its pretttty gruesome. It made me sick when I saw it first even though the effects look pretty bad.

Don't forget pet cemetery 2, the kid who gets it from Clancy Brown with the motorcycle, didnt one kid get in a car wreck with something ridiculous too in it?

The Day of the Locust is probably the most brutal that I can think of. Donald Sutherland just stomps on a kid, Jackie Earle Haley, to death.

reply

The most brutal child death has to be in the original version of Michael Haneke's Funny Games.

There is also that kid who got run over by a car in the infamous headcrushing scene from The Toxic Avenger (1984)

The Halloween movies have loads of kids dying them. I especially remember one dude who had worms crawling out his eye sockets :S

Are u kidding me? That was a boring death, we didn't even see it happen.

The most brutal kid's death is in The Blob (1988).

Wasn't there a kid in one of the Final Destination movies that got crushed by something dropping on him from a building site, I think he had just been to the dentist.

Yeah Final Destination 2 where the kid got crushed by a pane of glass.

^^Yeah, that scene in Drag Me to Hell was crazy, you don't catch a surprise like that all the time. The death scene in FD2 was graphic as hell! Another one was The Blob remake, kids gets face melted off by the Blob.
