What happened to the 25 lbs of heroine?

Well this isn't in the movie, but in the very beginning of the book, Dudley Smith took it from Buzz Meeks after killing him. Buzz Meeks was the actual one to steal it from Mickey Coen. Though I am not sure what he did with it cause I never got around to finishing it. But he did obviously sell it to someone for lots of money. Though the book is a sequel to the book The Big Nowhere which I have read and it's shown how bad Dudley is in the previous book.

Towards the end of the previous book The Big Nowhere Dudley lets a fellow officer Danny Upshaw know that he knows he is gay and will tell everyone. The thing is though this takes place in 1950 when you couldn't be a police officer or a lot of other things if you were gay. It was frowned upon by most back then. So poor Danny commits suicide cause he knows everyone will find out because of Dudley and can't stand everyone knowing that. He had kept it a secret for a long time. So he slices his own throat inside his apartment. It was very sad and I felt sorry for the guy.
