Is Kim Basinger legitimately a good actress?

We all know that she won an Oscar for this movie, but do you agree that she otherwise despite being an extremely beautiful woman, never left you an impression (in a good way) in virtually anything else that she's been in? In other words, there tends to be a wooden aspect about her onscreen that is difficult for me to ignore.

I liked her in a lot of films. Blind date, Nadine, the real McCoy, Batman, The getaway, etc... Her oscar win for this was only because there wasn't much competition that year. Is she Meryl Streep? Nope. But she had some good roles.
