I wonder what it's like to live in a small town

I grew up in Maryland in Baltimore county and I always felt like it was a small place. After graduation I moved to NYC for about 5 years and then to Washington D.C. I always felt suffocated in my hometown so I can't imagine living in a place with such a small population. Is this movie an accurate description of small town life?

I can't imagine living in a small town either. I have a cousin who lives in Jasper, Arkansas and since there is really no jobs there he has to frequently leave, then if the job doesn't pan out he moves back. He has moved over 500 miles away to another city, then had to move 500 miles back to live with his family again when he gets laid off or fired. Since rent is usually much more expensive in a larger city it becomes vital he have a roommate as well.

I've driven through towns like that. Spent the night at a hotel in one small town like that in Texas. There was only one restaurant, which was actually the living and dining area of a house, and two women ran the place. they both had pistols strapped to their side while they were serving us. Oh, and dinner ended at 6pm. Not, they will let people in at 6, but they will pretty much shoo you out the door. So, if you are from out of town and don't find something to eat by 6, you are out of fucking luck until breakfast time.

Sanderson I think. It is where Llewellyn was supposed to live in No Country for Old Men, but they shot those scenes somewhere else.

Lived in Texas my whole life & never been that far West. there's a lotta towns where I'm at like you described. I lived in a little town called Moody Texas, 1 cafe closed at 8. Good home cooking, usually to avoid going hungry like you described people would just get a bunch of Take out. Place would get real busy at closing time and the Owner would have to shoo em out the Door.
