The Lester/Agent Bar Scene *Slight Spoiler*

A lot of this movie was just okay to me, but man...when Lester (Vaughn) met up with Shelby (Garofalo) at the bar, that scene gave me chills. The way Garofalo started so sassy like she always does. Vaughn working his creepy laugh and quick wit to win her over. Finally she's laughing real big and there's even that weird moment where they touch hands...and then that other girl shows up and Vaughn is done. Back to regular plot, these two characters are never seen together onscreen again.

It was a pretty quick scene, but man was it great.

Actually a creepy scene since the know it all agent was sitting right next to him flirting. I felt her embarrassment over the whole thing afterwards.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

Set up ... and slam down.

Creepy is right. And yeah, her embarrassment for falling for it ...

Alcohol can do that kind of thing to you.

Just finished watching and wanted others' takes on some of the more subtle scenes. @Spastik, was it my imagination or did VV, aka LL leave that butt there on purpose?

reply

yes, he did leave it on purpose, and even broke in front of her stoned face.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

In fact, other than that scene, Vaughn was never onscreen with any cop. Well, and the final scene

yeah , early on I was thinking Vaughan might turn out to be Clay's "imaginary friend"

For such a subtle little moment, that was a pretty powerful scene! I felt embarrassed along with her! You could feel it.
Garofalo was fantastic in this movie. She had some great lines too!
