Poor Deke

He'll grow up without a father.  It didn't have to be that way. His father could have gone to prison if the truck hadn't needlessly been dropped on his head.

reply

The guy was trying to kill them! Maybe if Redbar didn't try to kill them with his truck he'd be alive.

reply

Redbar was already defeated after he'd fallen off the bridge. Did Kathleen Quinlan's character really need to drop the truck on him too?

reply

She was traumatized, he kidnapped her, raped her and tried to kill her, what do you expect her to do call an ambulance, kiss him better? He was still alive, dropping the truck on him made sure he couldn't come after them again even though it's highly unlikely he would have survived. He deserved everything he got.

reply

Exactly.

reply

No to mention, the actor who played him (JT Walsh) is deceased too. So, Red is just dead all the way around.

If his father had gone to prison (it would have been a life sentence with no parole or execution) his childhood would still be ruined, I dont even think the wife knew.

A lot of these movies have criminals with families, movies like THE SUBSTITUTE or 8 MILIMETER where the terrible man Nick Cage kills at the end now has an elderly mother who no longer has her son to take care of her.

These movies never seem to pay a 2nd thought to the ruined families of the villains.

That's because "these movies" are fictional stories. They don't pay a 2nd thought to the ruined families because there aren't any ruined families; there are actors who go home to their REAL families after their scenes are shot.

Honestly, feeling sympathy for fictional families of fictional villains is pretty pathetic. You must be an Obama voter.

Though, if this story would have happened in real life, she still should have dropped the truck on top of him. The emotional well-being of the family of a criminal isn't the victim's responsibility.

reply

I can never tell who's more crazy. criminals or liberals.

reply

His childhood would of been ruined even if his dad survived and got away with it what a horrible father .

reply

Deke might have been better off without that guy as his father. I think no father at all might be better than a father who's a criminal and a real bad influence. The people who raise you have a profound effect on what you're like as an adult.

Red's dead baby. Red's dead.

reply

As opposed to growing up WITH a father who was a thief and murderer? Or without a father who is spending the rest of his life in prison?

You sound silly.
