Apostrophes. What are they for and how do you use them?

I always thought that was the point/fun of the movie. This absolute lowlife with no awareness has all this crazy stuff happen around him and all he really cares about is getting his rug back because it ties the room together. He's absolutely indifferent to the corruption, violence, twists, crimes and all that. He's beaten up in the tub? Whatever. He's thrown out of a limosine? Brushes himself off and shrugs. Neo-Nazis jump him in the bowling alley and his friend dies? Let's go bowling and never discuss it again. He just continues to coast through life no matter what happens.

At the end he's still sitting at the bowling alley smacking cream off his beard.
