Dark irony of Hathor

In Season One’s “Hathor,” the goa’uld queen Hathor has sex with Daniel in order to conceive and give birth to goa’uld larvae. It’s really dark and twisted when one remembers that Daniel had just killed a tank of larvae in “Bloodlines” and now in this episode he has become the father to a new generation of goa’uld, which end up being his first and only offspring in the series. It’s like his karma for killing them. It must be so damning to him knowing that his first children were with his sworn his sworn enemy and not his wife. Plus we don’t know for sure how many time he and Hathor have sex or what exactly she did with him in order to ensure their intercourse led to her pregnancy.

Those snakes don't count as "children." They are evil parasites that were looking to take over hapless human hosts.

Hathor got pregnant with them by having sex with Daniel so I would say they are his children. I wonder if she gave birth more of them after she left the SGC. Also it would interesting if Hathor chose Daniel to be the father because of his knowledge which could be passed on to the offspring through goa’uld’s genetic memory.

Did they finally kill Hathor later on? I never got to see the episode where they dealt with her again in Season 2.

reply

She appears in the season 2 finale and season 3 premiere. She kidnaps Jack, Daniel, and Sam in a replica of the SGC and convinces them they are in a future version of Earth and plans to have one of them become the host for one of her goa’ulds (they don’t say if it’s one of her offspring with Daniel but they imply that Hathor is its mother). The cliffhanger of Season 2 is Hathor deciding who will become the host. Season 3 premiere picks up immediately afterwards and Hathor wants Daniel to be the host reminding him of the sex they had together but he refuses so she chooses Jack and the goa’uld goes in his neck but Sam is able to freeze the goa’uld inside Jack to kill it. Jack then throws Hathor into a vat of ice, presumably killing her. Then Hammond and Teal’c come to rescue them.

I wonder how Hathor was able give birth to the goauld so quickly only presumably minutes after she has sex with Daniel. Also I wonder how she was pregnant with so many and her belly remained its normal size. 🤰

I’ve thought it over more. Maybe she collects and stores Daniel’s DNA through sex and then releases her eggs to be fertilized at a rate that is suitable for birthing.
