Been missing Daddy's kissing?

Seriously, why did King have an 18 year old Danny grab "kisses" from his from his fathers ghost?!

When Danny is five childish things like this aren't out of place. I'm not saying the father was a creep, when sober. It's just a creepy line. Maybe it didn't translate from the page as well.

To your grown son? Come on now. God forbid he just say, "Proud of you. Love you. About that hotel thing...."

King had Daddy issues. He's spoken about it but it's also obvious from his writing. His father walked out and abandoned him, his brother and his mother when he was 2 years old. He said he was going to get a pack of cigarettes and never came back.

It seems those replying have daddy issues too if they think it’s gross to kiss their own father. Affection between family and even friends is healthy and normal.

Really? I didn't see this as creepy at all. Would it have been creepy if it was his mom? Is it a boy/boy thing? I dont see the problem... You have some kind of filter on because I think it was meant to be sweet which is how I saw it. To show that he understood it wasn't his dad that tried to kill him and that he still loved his dad and his dad still loved him. Affection is OK!

Imagine the graduation audience's response as they see Danny Torrance catch invisible kisses and talk to his father's spirit whilst on stage. Did they wonder to whom he was speaking?

"We may have to take your diploma back, Danny."

I always thought that time froze during that scene and only Dick and Wendy could see what was going on. But I did question stuff too if time wasn't frozen. At the same time, I don't really try to go that far it logic. When it's a movie or TV show, I don't watch for 100% realism. But I sort of thought that everyone else in the room froze or went into a trance so Danny, Jack, Wendy, and Dick could have some moment.
