Death & Dreams: series 6

Forgive me if I am asking something that has been discussed before, but last night I watched this episode (one of the few I hadn't seen before) and it struck me that there was a subplot, where dare I say it Barnaby had a long ago affair with the Dr Jane Moore character and even that her daughter could be Barnaby's? Am I being fanciful/dim?

reply

I'm going to re-watch this episode now. So many episodes that I can't remember all the little ins and outs of most of them.

reply

OK, let me know what you think...

reply

I'm glad you reminded me of this - I'd forgotten my comment. When I saw the episode the first time I thought Barnaby's behavior was a bit off in the sense that I didn't recall him ever being so tactile with anyone outside his family. I didn't go as far as you did in imagining that they may have had an affair.

Early in this episode he remarks to Troy that he worked with Dr Moore on some cases years ago. That makes it sound like a professional relationship. A little later he says that she would have made a very good detective and that he admires her mind. But still, I can see where someone might suspect an old affair - I don't recall any other times when Barnaby was so touchy with people.

reply

Thanks for your reply, I suppose the "years ago" could refer to before he was married, I don't know whether the dates would add up. Anyway, it's fun to make up our own backstories sometimes!

reply

Yes, hard to say if the dates would work out right. I believe Barnaby also said "before your time" to Troy when he talked about working with Dr Moore, so maybe they would.

Making up backstories is half the fun here! Heck, some posters get very indignant when others don't agree with their versions. It can get a little crazy, but it's still fun.

reply

lol no, (Did you take ambien or something, lol.). ;-)
