It's just a movie.

Don't watch Miller's Crossing 1990 for god sake. There a Thompson sub-machine gun firing a thousand rounds without reloading.

reply

Even with the largest drum magazine, which holds 100 rounds, a continuous burst from a Thompson would only last about 10 seconds.

The movie "gun sin" that drives me nuts is that every friggin' time a gun is picked up or moved, even just an inch, there are all these loud "clickety-clack" sounds, as if the thing is a bunch of loose parts rattling around in a can. It's ridiculous. Guns only make noise when they're cocked, and when they're fired--not when they're moved.

reply

Exactly! It’s like they were manufactured with really crap tolerances and just rattle in a stiff wind. Same thing happens whenever some actor picks up a knife if makes this unsheathing noise.
