I think Jeffrey Combs is a great actor BUT

did anyone dislike the dammers character? i couldn't stand him. he was completely out of touch with what was going on, made stupid decisions, etc. this is just a movie, but i thought i would share my opinions on the character. still got love for jeffrey combs work though. also i thought this movie was entertaining, not the best, there are things that don't add up, but i still enjoyed it.

He was psychotic because of spending years undercover with various cults, as a sex slave, pain slave, object of ritual scarification, etc... His head was *beep* and he wasn't written to be a nice guy, or helpful. He believed his experiences, and all the pain, and rituals he'd witnessed and been a part of had endowed him with a knowledge or connection to paranormal powers, but in reality, he was just crazy.

What? I thought he was absolutely hilarious!

Everybody at some point in their lives have come across someone that just annoys the piss out of them. And no matter what their rhyme or reason is for making themselves present in your daily life, has little to no impact on you or your continuing narrative. Agent Dammers, despite his best effort... is that person. And Jeffery Combs did a great job at it/

You're not supposed to like him. He's meant to feel awkward and a little unhinged.

Reminded me of Jude Law's performance in Road to Perdition, just looked like he wandered in from another movie that was shooting down the road.

Sorry, disagree. He's weird and annoying but that's the point. My friends and I think he stole every scene he was in. We frequently throw out a Dammers line and bust a gut laughing. "What did he do? Piss on your Hush Puppies?" LOL, I dunno, maybe we're just a select group of oddballs. Sure wouldn't be the first time. Anyway, Team Dammers!

This is madness. Not only is Jeffrey Combs great in this role, his character one of the best parts of this movie. If not the most dynamic character. He is supposed to be awkward and insane. Do you only watch movies with characters you would get a beer with?

He was supposed to be unhinged and out of touch with reality.
