Better than True Lies

I just saw it and I honestly think that it's better than True Lies. Between the two I think Eraser has a more interesting story.
This movie had a good spread of suspenseful scenes and action packed scenes. True Lies started to get boring until the last two action scenes, the one on the highway and the final one on top of the skyscraper with the plane.

Eraser 7/10
True Lies 6/10

Anyone else agree?

Nah. It was better than Collateral Damage or The Sixth Day. But it felt too much like perfunctory action. It didn't feel like an Arnold movie. This one could've easily cast Steven Seagal in the lead role and we wouldn't know the difference. A more entertaining action movie about secret agents and identities from that same year was The Long Kiss Goodnight. I have that one on DVD.

True Lies is better but Eraser is really good and its the last movie where its "classic" Arnold.

so many movies, so little time

I agree.

I love True Lies, but Eraser is better. True Lies is also kinda silly (which is intentional), while Eraser is really more grounded and there's more meat to it. The action sequences are absolutely brilliant and the cast is much more impressive.

Also, the score by Alan Silvestri is a 10/10. Perfect.

I agree. True Lies is so overrated, I never cared for it. I would rather watch Eraser or almost any other Arnold movie, except for Running Man which was pretty goofy.

I really liked True Lies and Eraser but my top Arnold Films are The Terminator, Terminator 2, and Predator. I also liked Commando, Kindergarten Cop, and Twins.

True Lies is a masterpiece. I find the meandering it does to be deeply interesting, being something of a deep take into the life of James Bond or what not, when not on the job. I never liked Eraser when it came out. But it was in a bit of heavy rotation on cable some years back, and I watch it a few times over, and really began to appreciate it as one of Arnie's better films. The problem is production value. True Lies is quite simply a James Cameron film. While Eraser is some top Blockbuster rental material. Meaning it could have been a Van Damme movie and you wouldn't have noticed the difference.
