Did this ruin the films it parodied?

All the movies this film pokes fun at were dramas. I still like them for the most part, but it's hard not to laugh at the originals because the Wayans did so many jokes that almost every aspect of some of them were goofed on here. And when they use the same actor for the 'Potnah' guy, it's like breaking the 4th wall or similar to it.

In some ways, this makes Menace II Society and Boyz in the Hood obsolete, because you can get the gist of what happens in those two films just by watching this one.
